Here's the dog's world.
And of course they have stories!!!
PRINCE

Prince was my first dog.  I got him when i was turning eleven,
he was a birthday presant for me.  My parents and I were looking for
huskies for a long time and finally found this guy.  He was the only one
in his litter that survived.  We had been on many many
unsuccessful puppy hunts.  Some were too fluffy, too black, not
fluffy enough, parents looked weird, ect ect.  One morning (Sat Jun. 1st)
Mom and Dad asked me if I wanted to go look at more puppies.
I said "of course".  I was looking for the perfect dog, and so were
my parents.  We had gone to see SO many litters of husky puppies.
So we set off for the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Dad had been talking to
this breeder for a few weeks getting information and trying to set
up a good time to go see the puppies she had.  So we drive up to Bear
Creek Rd. and find her place.  We went in, and she wanted to show
us around her entire kennel first.  I got to see all of the huskies she had
(which was a LOT) and I was in HEAVEN.  (a 10-yr old with a bunch of
husky puppies? oh yeah!).  So she brought each one in, individually.
The first one she brought in she said she liked to call him hedgehog
because every time he came in he'd barrow underneath the couches.
He came in and was running around like crazy!!!!  I loved him the second
I saw him.  Of course mom and dad wanted to look at the other 3 that she
had but I was dead set on having this hyper dog.  Which is what I
called him.  "I like the hyper one, can we get him? PLEEEEZ?" While
I was begging dad was outside taking pictures of the mom and the
dad because he knew that this dog was mine.  He turned out to be
a pretty good dog for being an only child.  He was born on March 17th 1991.
For many many years he was the alpha male in my house.  Now he has
been demoted to the "elderly dog" position.  He is an awesome dog and
will hopefully be with me for a few more years to come.

TOBI

This is Tobi.  He is a King Shepherd.  He is about 3 years old now,
he was born Oct 26th 2000.
I got him at the ranch that I was keeping
Joey at.  I knew his mom for a few years and knew her litters
that she had had previously.  They all turned out to be pretty cool
dogs.  I was actually just passing by one day with my horse and my
sister said "OH MY GAWD - AMY PUPPIES" So I put my horse in
Turn-out (a place to run around in) and went back to see the
puppies that were there.  I was looking at the little female puppy and
my sister was looking at her brother.  We, of course, we "ooh-ing" and
"aaw-ing" at them when Holly looks up and says "oh man, look at
THAT one!" When I looked up I saw this giant fluffy face watching us
from under the wooden steps to the house.  I thought he was the
cutest looking thing!  He stood there for a few seconds watching, I guess,
but when I looked up at him he ducked right out of there and came
barreling over toward me.  He plowed right into his sister, sent her
rolling a few feet and sat down right in front of me, his back leaning
against me, and he looked up at me backwards/upside
down.  At that specific moment I could tell that he was for me.
He chose me.  So many days after that I went and visited him and
he'd come every time I'd walk up and say "puppies".  He and his brother
and sister would come running out.  Mama dog didnt care becuase
she liked me just as much so she'd come up and lay down near us
while I played with them.  I ended up taking Tobi home Dec 28th.
Everybody on the ranch knew he was my dog.  I claimed him the
second I saw him.  Other people were interested in him but
everybody told them to not get attached becuase he was already mine.
The owners of the mama dog knew it also.  When I showed up at their
door on the 28th she said "ah, come to pay for your puppy and take
him home?" and I hadnt talked to them at all (they were away in mexico).
So ever since then he's been totally mine.  Very connected with me and
extremely protective.  He is great!
