Windows NT
First time computer setup

Microsoft NT 4.0 has a pretty basic setup. First of all, RAS MUST BE INSTALLED. If you double click My Computer and then Dial-Up Networking and you will see the following screen. If RAS is installed you may follow through the screens below for setup information.

Double click on My Computer and then on Dial-Up Networking and you will see this screen:

To start setting up the connection, click on More - then click on Edit Entry And Modem Properties.

The Basic tab is just that - Basic. You just need to make sure that you have the correct phone number and modem listed on this screen. Click on the Server tab:

Make sure that your settings match this screen shot exactly, then click on the button that says TCP/IP Settings:

Again, enter the information exactly as you see it here, then click on OK then click on the Script tab:

Script should be set to NONE...now click on the Security tab:

This is an important screen ... Windows NT defaults to accept only encrypted authentication ... Make sure you set it to - ACCEPT ANY AUTHENTICATION INCLUDING CLEAR TEXT. Next, click on the X.25 tab:

X.25 should be set to NONE...click OK and you will go back to the first screen ... simply click on Dial to start the connection process.

On the Connection screen, make sure you include @prism.net with your username and make sure to leave the Domain field blank. Now you should be connected, open Internet Explorer to start surfing!.
