To get started, follow these simple steps and you'll be connected and surfing in no time!

First, double click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop. Then double click on Control Panel.

Double click on the Network and Dial-Up Connections icon.
|
|
|
Double click on Make a New Connection.
|
|
|
Click on Next.
|
|
|
The type of connection should be checked as Dial-up to the Internet. Click on Next.
|
|
|
Check the button for I want to set up my Internet connection manually, and click on Next.
|
|
|
Click the button for I connect through a phone line and modem. Then click on Next.
|
|
|
Enter the telephone number that you wish to dial. If you live in an area that uses 10 digit dialing, enter the area code in the phone number area, not in the area code box. Uncheck the box that says Use area code and dialing rules.
Then click on Advanced
|

|
Under the Connection tab. Make sure the Connection type is set to PPP and Log on procedure is set to None.
|
|
|
Now click the Addresses. The IP address should be set for Internet service provider automatically provides one. The DNS should be set to My ISP automatically provides a Domain Name Server (DNS) address. Then click on OK.

|
This is where you type in your username and password. Make sure that your username ends with @prism.net. Also make sure you are entering everything in all lowercase. Then click on Next.

Type in a name that you would like to name your connection, so that you will remember what computer you are dialing. Then click Next.
|
|
|
From here, click Yes. Then click Next.
|
|
|
Click on Create a new Internet Mail Account.
|
|
|
Type in your real name here, so that your friends and colleagues will know who the email is from, since most email addresses are aliases. Then Click Next.

Here is where you type in your email address. Then click Next.
|
|
|
This is where you should enter the mail server names. For Prism Access, they are listed as shown. Type them in exactly as shown below. Click on Next.

Type in your Username and Password, then click Next.
|
|
|
Congratulations! You have successfully created an internet dial up account. Click on Finish to establish your connection and start surfing the internet.
